The role:
As part of this role you will cover a range of critical activities gaining exposure to a whole host of areas supporting Secured Credit Risk. This role underpins our secured lending portfolio giving you exposure to a wide range of areas across Risk. Our data analysis is carried out using SAS statistical software however we are open to candidates with diverse data analytical skillsets i.e. SQL and keen to invest in SAS training for the successful candidate.
You will undertake detailed data analysis to help understand how our portfolio is performing. Continually assess our performance against expectations and be able to explain variations in the data. This is a great opportunity to get involved with generating insight, plans, controls, processes, and revisions and a key player in our banks 2024 growth strategy
This role is predominantly home working. With an expectation to attend our Manchester city centre based office monthly.
Key accountabilities:
* Support the day to day execution of the Secured arrears strategy, with regular reporting, working to tight deadlines, delivering outstanding level of reliability, completeness and accuracy
* Affordability calculator monitoring and reviewing
* Undertake analysis to support /help determine the development of credit risk strategies and controls to ensure that the strategies perform as expected and within the risk appetite of the business
* Review the effectiveness of credit risk controls and strategies including performance against key risk indicators, benchmarking against other lenders and analysis of actual performance against expectations, providing insights into any variances, with recommendations to their manager for corrective action where necessary
* Investigate issues identifying and highlighting trends and emerging issues, together with the identification and development of appropriate solutions to improve the customer experience and business performance
* Understand and develop customer focussed solutions to deliver consistent and sustainable outcomes for customers
* Deliver analytical management information and analysis to support senior management requests. Present to their manager and other relevant forums the performance of credit risk strategies, emerging trends and issues, providing recommendations as appropriate
* Keep knowledge up to date in respect of credit risk management and develop skills to enhance personal capability in the role
Knowledge, skills and experience required:
* Data analytics
* Credit Risk knowledge and experience
* Strong mathematical skills
* Experience of credit risk management and associated analytical techniques and practices
* Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, R, Python, JAVA etc
* Ability to manipulate and analyse large data sets using relevant programming languages
Desirable:
* Educated to degree level in an analytical discipline. Ideally a further high level qualification in mathematics / statistics
* SAS knowledge and experience
