The role:

 

As a Director of Change Office, you’ll be responsible for the establishment, operation and ongoing development of the Bank’s Change Office, through leadership of the central change portfolio management team.

 

The role ensures appropriate oversight of the Bank’s investment portfolio (including Digital), enabling transparent and independent reporting of delivery progress against key outcomes, financial performance vs envelope, risk and contention management, and delivery execution against the agreed delivery method.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Oversight and management of the Bank’s investment portfolio vs agreed performance targets and OKRs
  • Ensure that the investment portfolio regulatory obligations are met, within agreed timescales with the regulatory bodies.
  • Manage investment portfolio financials, reporting and financial control point updates
  • Co-ordination, management, and facilitation of Transformation Committee, acting as Deputy Chair where required.
  • Lead on shaping of the Bank’s Investment Portfolio construct, and quarterly and annual prioritisation.
  • Update and maintenance of the Bank Change Methodology
  • Manage Exec and Board quarterly transformation portfolio updates
  • Maintain and manage risks and issues at Bank investment portfolio level.
  • Independently assure delivery outcomes and adherence to the Bank Change Methodology

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

 

  • Communicate effectively – translating complex content into digestible messages to facilitate decision making and escalations as appropriate.
  • Highly numerate – able to analyse trends / risks and problem solve within varying levels of detail.
  • Strong commercial acumen – understands the Financial Services sector; can interpret complex business scenarios, evaluate dynamics and make informed decisions that support strategic growth.
  • Deep understanding of process, technology and operational needs and challenges in large scale UK financial service organisations
  • Risk Management for an enterprise-wide change portfolio.
  • Portfolio and strategic reporting / storytelling to Exec and Board level.
  • Strong leadership and line management skills with the ability to inspire large groups of multi-skilled professionals to build high-performing teams.

 

Technical Capabilities:

  • Experience in strategic planning and execution including implementation of complex IT and business change, for investment portfolios of c£100m
  • Numerically proficient with strong financial experience to drive value and costs benefit realisation
  • Expert knowledge of programme and project management techniques (essential).
  • Deep understanding of Project and Operational Risk management (RAID)
  • Track record in waterfall and agile software development methodologies/mindset.
