The role:

 

As a Senior People Business Partner, you’ll partner with one or more Executives and their leadership teams to provide high quality, commercially focussed HR counsel both strategically and operationally. Aligning HR practice with business strategy to enable the delivery of business plans within the Bank’s defined policies, values and risk appetite.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

Detailed understanding of the landscape of the organisation including transformation activities and industry trends.*

Develop and direct the people agenda that supports the overarching goals of the organisation, bridging the gap between the strategic intent of each business areas with the operational people delivery.*

Design, drive & deliver the Directorate’s people plans aligned to the Bank and functional strategic priorities. Identifying where input or support is needed from Centres of Excellence and contracting for/facilitating this support to enable effective delivery of business plans.*

Lead the People work streams on key strategic projects across the Bank, acting as an SME for all People matters. Owning project deliverables for the People work stream and ensuring compliance with employment law requirements.*

Support the Exec & their leadership teams in identifying their people risks, and support the development of appropriate plans to mitigate these.*

Forge close and influential working relationships with the Exec and their leadership teams acting as a trusted partner and expert in People matters.*

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

 

*       Practiced in partnering with and influencing C Suite level leaders

*       CIPD qualification or equivalent

*       Significant knowledge of employment law and practical application of this

*       Broad understanding of all people processes and the levers to drive engagement, performance, culture change.

Demonstrable expertise in provision of HR counsel to Senior Leader on all people aspects including transformation, organisational effectiveness, performance and talent management*

Skilled in the implementation of employee experience initiatives*

Experience of leveraging data, analytics and insights to influence and develop the business agenda and transform ways of working*

Personal and professional credibility required to coach and influence senior managers, predominantly Executive, Directors and Head of roles*

Has a proven ability to build trusting relationships with key stakeholders quickly and to influence at all levels – may be required to operate at ‘higher’ or ‘lower’ levels than typical audience.*

Commercially-focussed approach, based on thorough understanding of the business and the external market place.*

Strong knowledge of all HR disciplines – either CIPD qualified or equivalent experience in one or more specialist area and able to communicate this in a business focussed way.*

Able to demonstrate previous success in a business partnering capacity – can demonstrate added value and contribution to improved business performance. *

Able to maintain momentum and resilience during change and uncertainty.*

Demonstrable track record of developing and coaching a team to realise their potential.*

Flexibility and mobility will be required to provide support to the business as demand dictates*

Maintain knowledge of and adherence to all relevant employment law and regulatory guidelines*
